Top News and Magazine Apps in Costa Rica: Q2 2025 Performance

In the second quarter of 2025, the top news and magazine applications on the unified platform in Costa Rica showcased varied performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

La Nación Costa Rica experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $1K by the end of June. Weekly downloads, however, showed a downward trend, decreasing from 152 in early April to around 120 by the end of the quarter.

El Financiero Costa Rica saw a steady growth in weekly revenue, peaking at $433 in the final week of June. Despite this, weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at 148 and dipping to 89 by the quarter's end.

X (Formerly Twitter) maintained strong weekly revenue, with fluctuations peaking at approximately $1.1K in mid-June. Downloads remained robust, averaging around 3K weekly, while active users consistently hovered over 300K, peaking at 350K mid-June.

EL PAÍS had modest weekly revenue, with a noticeable increase to $166 in early June. Downloads remained low throughout the quarter, while active users showed slight fluctuations, averaging around 80.

Le Monde, Live News recorded a spike in revenue to $171 at the end of June. Downloads remained consistently low, and active users saw a gradual decline, finishing the quarter at 32.
